A DeKalb man was jailed after allegedly breaking into his estranged girlfriend's home on DeKalb's south side. According to court documents, on October 25th in the wee hours of the morning, 40-year-old Aaron Russom walked into a house on the 100 Block of Mattek Avenue. Police say he hit the woman in the face, attempted to strangle her, stated he would kill her and smashed her iPhone. The report says when the woman tried to leave in her car, but Russom shut the garage door and prevented her from leaving. Police say Russom admitted to being at the home, destroying the phone, and getting into an altercation with the woman. He also said they were currently dating. Russom is charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor.
