Representatives of the Board of Directors from the Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence are shown here accepting a check for $1,000 from Jean Hungiville, Executive Director of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce. The check represents a portion of the proceeds from the recent Chamber sponsored Le Tour de Shore bike tour. Each year, the committee for this event designates a non-profit to sponsor. Last year the Chamber donated $1,000 to the Food Bank of the Eastern Shore and ESCADV was chosen to be the recipient of the 2013 Tour donation. ESCADV strives to bring awareness to the seriousness of the problem of domestic violence, provide emergency relief to its victims, as well as programs to treat the causes and symptoms of domestic violence. Pictured above are Peaches Dodge and Harry Rush, the incoming and current president of the ESCADV Board of Directors respectively.
