The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department has identified a woman killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon as Holly L . Schinke, 33, of Merrill.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 17 near Smith Road just outside of Merrill.

Investigators said two vehicles collided head-on. Two people were in one vehicle, one person was in the other. One of drivers, Schinke, died at a Merrill hospital. Two others were also transported to the hospital for their injuries.

The highway reopened around 5:19 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
