Tuesday morning, Langlade Hospital in conjunction with the Langlade Health Coalition, introduced a healthy heart awareness campaign entitled, "The Beat Goes On."

Langlade Hospital CEO Dave Schneider said the year long effort will feature many events focusing on education and prevention of heart disease. Based on a study done by the hospital in 2013, it was determined that heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in Langlade County.

Schneider credited the City of Antigo for the wide range of recreational opportunities available in the city, and the Langlade County Board of Health for being supportive.
