There are many interesting aspects of this great area of Texas. McCulloch County is located in the geographical center of Texas and at the "affordable" edge of the Texas Hill Country. The county's terrain varies from granite outcroppings in the southeastern part of McCulloch County to fertile farmland in the northwest, and all areas in between are truly some of the best whitetail deer hunting in the state. The main thoroughfares that connect Brady to the metropolitan areas of Texas are Highways 87, 190, 377, 283, and 71. We are on the road to where you want to go!
McCulloch County not only has excellent deer hunting, but also provides for some excellent fishing. Brady Lake is located only 3 miles west of Brady, the Colorado River forms the northern boundry and the San Saba River traverses the southern part of the county. Dove and turkey hunting is another reason we lay claim to some of the best recreational properties in this area of Texas. You can be assured that regardless of your hunting or fishing needs, whether it be a camouflaged hunting blind or apple-flavored deer corn, it can be found right here in Brady.
Other great assets you will find in McCulloch County are our people and our public schools. There are 3 school districts - Brady ISD, Lohn ISD, and Rochelle ISD. Each of the schools strive to provide the highest quality of education possible. Brady and the surrounding rural communities of Lohn and Rochelle are wonderful places to live and raise a family. The people are friendly and always excited to welcome newcomers into the community.
Brady is a progressive and growing community that is always looking toward the future, but at the same time, we value that "small town" feeling. It is alive and well in Brady, Texas!
