Bob Jacobs, who woke up the Tuscarawas Valley via the radio for over 31 years passed away early Saturday morning. We knew him as Bob, but he was born David Robert Jacobs in Peoria, Illinois on July 7th, 1942. Bob's radio career started in Illinois after his graduation from Bradley University, but in 1968, he and his family moved to the Tuscarawas Valley where he began his local radio career as morning man and sales representative for WJER Radio at Dover. Bob retired in 1988, but returned to the airways in July of 1990 as the morning voice of WTUZ Radio. For 11 years, Bob held down the morning show on 99.9 FM until health reasons forced his second and last retirement from radio in August of 2001.

Bob passed away quietly at his home in Massillon.

A memorial service will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon at 7pm, Monday, October 15th.

The family requests contributions in Bobs memory be made to the Tuscarawas Society for Children and Adults, also known as the Rainbow Connection.
