The Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners met Monday evening. Prior to the meeting being called to order, Gary Bailey was sworn in as a new member of the board by Greensburg Mayor Joshua Marsh. Once the meeting was called to order, the election of officers for 2020 took place. Bill Ernstes was reelected as President with Jon Dooley being reelected as Vice President.

Dooley provided the financial report with $52,379.54 in the Airport Improvement Account; $41,385.87 in the Aviation and Rotary Fuel Account; and $134,220.09 in the Airport Operations Account for a total of $227,985.50. Mr. Dooley noted that the balance that can be drawn upon from the Jackson County Bank line of credit for the airport expansion project is $3,130,483.81. Airport Manager Jerry Scheidler reported that one hangar is currently vacant.

Collin Sullivan of BF&S reported that all surveys and geotechnical surveys for the airport expansion project have been completed. He provided a final copy of the Capital Improvement Plan for 2020-2025 for signature by the board president.

Ernstes noted that the owners of the Sterchi, Beggs, and Haston properties have submitted their acceptances that their properties can be taken by eminent domain. In each case, the owners are contesting the offers made for the properties. As a result, Decatur Circuit Court Judge Timothy Day assigned William O. Smith,, Larry Colson and Belinda Graber as appraisers of each property.

The board will hold its next meeting on February 24th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
