1/27/2020 - Mayor Marsh Updates Rotary Club - Click here to print this information

The Greensburg Rotary Club met on Monday. The club will be celebrating its 100th birthday at St. Mary's Church on May 16th.

Lora Williams introduced Mayor Joshua Marsh to update the club. The State of the City Address is currently being worked on and major infrastructure updates are still happening. The Mayor said that the new water plant construction, which cost $24 million, is going smoothly and should be done sometime by 2023. The Mayor mentioned that you can see the construction of the new plant off 5th Street. The airport project is continuing on its way. Veterans Way phase 2 is now underway, the plan is to start in July and have the dirt moved by September.

Mayor Marsh updated the club on possible upcoming traffic restrictions. The bridge on Main Street will be replaced, INDOT is in charge of this project. The county will be replacing the bridge on Washington Street. The Mayor and City Engineer Ron May recently went up to INDOT to apply for $18 million to fix up Michigan Street with the end goal of it looking similar to the N end of Lincoln Street. However they do believe that INDOT will deny the request, but it will get the ball rolling on the idea.

Mayor Marsh also hopes to build communication between Greensburg authoritative figures and citizens. The Mayor believes that the cost is cheap to do this in comparison to how much information will be available for the community. The social media handle for the city are: FaceBook- city of Greensburg, and Twitter/instagram- greensburg_in.
