The Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals met Tuesday evening to consider a Permitted Use from the provisions of the Greensburg Code of Ordinances. The Permitted Use involves the following consideration: the Greensburg Bread of Life requested a permitted use of a building located at 720 Randall Street. The property is currently zoned I-1, Light Industrial. The permitted use would be for the first year. After one year, Bread of Life would have to request a permanent exception.

Some neighboring landowners expressed concern about loitering and parking. They were informed that the new building would have more parking spaces than at the current building. Melissa Foist, Founder and Executive Director of Bread of Life, ensured the concerned citizens that they work to educate and establish rules for their clients and will continue to do so to help in alleviating those concerns. One of the board members noted that issues like loitering are issues that are handled by the Greensburg Police Department. After the discussion, the board approved the request 4-0 with 1 board member abstaining.

The board will hold its next meeting on October 15th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
