The Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners met Monday evening. Vice President Jon Dooley provided the financial report with $62,923.61 in the Airport Improvement Account; $55,532.45 in the Aviation and Rotary Fuel Account; and $115,262.47 in the Airport Operations Account for a total of $233,718.53. Mr. Dooley noted that the only change to the Jackson County Bank account was a $12,000 draw on the line of credit for payment to the board's attorney. Mr. Dooley also provided the board members with a projected budget for 2020 of $76,730.00, a decrease from the 2019 budget of $81,118.00.
Paul Shaffer from BF&S provided an update on the appraisals for the runway project. He stated that the appraisals have been completed and have moved on to the review appraisals. He noted that the appraisers have done a very thorough job using comparables to similar properties to those proposed for purchase. He stated that he expects the board's attorney, Donald Tribbett, to bring several completed appraisals to the August meeting. Mr. Shaffer submitted a Partial Pay Request for Airport Improvement Program 13 in the amount of $6,000 so the city can receive reimbursement of $5,400 from the FAA and $300 from the state. The board approved the request.
Airport Manager Jerry Scheidler noted that there is still one hangar available and 39 aircraft are currently based out of Greensburg. He also stated that he had to purchase a significant amount of Jet Fuel based on the requests from 2 out-of-state crop dusters who will be working in the local area and want the convenience of refueling in Greensburg.
The board will hold its next meeting on August 26th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
