The Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals met Tuesday evening. Robert Pierson, Jr. requested a variance to the required front yard width to build a single family home at 629 N. Lincoln St. The city zoning ordinance requires that the front yard width must be at least 70 feet wide. The property where Mr. Pierson wants to build his home has a front yard width of 60 feet. The house he intends to build is 26 feet wide with a total square footage of 1,100 square feet. There is also a shared driveway with the property to the south. The board approved the variance with the additional conditions that the shared driveway be included in the deed and that the house be built more to the west on the lot to make room for a turnaround in the driveway to prevent backing onto Lincoln Street.

Terry Ruble requested a variance regarding a garage addition that would result in an accessory building that exceeds the 720 square feet established in the city zoning ordinance. The current accessory building is 728 square feet. With the addition, the accessory building size would increase to 28 feet by 38 feet for a total of 1,064 square feet. Mr. Ruble also required a variance of 5 feet to the side setback on the west side of the structure. The board approved the requests.

The board will hold its next meeting on July 16th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
