5/22/2019 - Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting - Click here to print this information

The Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals met Tuesday evening. Sign Craft Industries, Inc. requested a variance for the new Dunkin Donuts at 1801 N. Lincoln Street. The variance involves the installation of wall signs on a building frontage that does not face a street as required by City of Greensburg Code of Ordinance Section 155.074(A) and the installation of five signs along the East, North, and West sides of the building as allowed by Ordinance Section 155.074(A)(2). The signs meet size limitations but a variance is needed for the signs on the East and West sides of the building. The board approved the variance.

Billy J. Wilmer requested a variance for the maximum square footage of a detached garage as allowed by the City of Greensburg Code of Ordinances Section 155.020(C). Mr. Wilmer wants to add a 28 feet by 48 feet addition to his existing detached garage. The structure would meet all setback requirements. The board reviewed 2 letters from neighboring homeowners.

One of the neighboring homeowners addressed his concerns to the board, in particular possible drainage issues. Plan Director Kathy Reynolds explained actions that the city requires to alleviate significant drainage issues. The board approved the variance.

The board will hold its next meeting on June 18th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
