The Greensburg Plan Commission met Tuesday evening and considered two petitions. Andy Scholle, representing Decatur County Memorial Hospital, requested a voluntary annexation of 3 parcels that are currently in Washington Township. He noted that the request allows the hospital to consolidate the parcels, have a resurvey of all hospital property, then include the property on one deed. The parcels would be annexed in a B-2 zoning classification. The petition passed unanimously.

Representatives of Lake Point Apartments at 2301 N. Broadway Street requested a reconfiguration of the existing site plan. The reconfiguration would add 7 apartment buildings and 3 garages. The complex would require a 2nd entryway for school bus access. The currently proposed 2nd entryway would be part of the Veterans Way, Phase II project. City Engineer Ron May noted that negotiations for right-of-way acquisition for Veterans Way, Phase II are still taking place. The project, pending right-of-way acquisition, is expected to be completed in 2020 consistent with completion of the Lake Point Apartments expansion. Access to Veterans Way would require access to an easement owned by Scheidler, LLC and approval of the easement access by Duke Energy. The petition passed unanimously contingent on approval of easement access.

City Building Code Official Kathy Reynolds updated the commission members on her research regarding a potential parking ordinance, primarily related to curbing. She provided the ordinances from Columbus and Shelbyville and is working to obtain ordinances from other surrounding communities.

The plan commission will hold its next meeting on December 18th at 7:15 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
