7/5/2018 - SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE STOP LEADS TO DRUG-RELATED ARREST

On July 3, 2018, approximately 12:18 pm, Bartholomew County Sheriff's Deputy Brent Worman observed a vehicle traveling southbound on E SR 46 make an abrupt turn west onto E 100 N.
The vehicle then turned into a residence on the south side of E 100 N. After verifying the vehicle did not belong to the residence and the driver did not have a valid driver's license, Deputy Worman returned to the residence and made contact with the driver identified as Meredith Garris, 46, 426 Harrison Street, Hope, IN. During the investigation, deputies located Methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
Garris was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
Possession of Methamphetamine and
Possession of Paraphernalia
She has since been released.
All persons are considered innocent until/unless proven guilty in a court of law.
