DECATUR COUNTY, Ind.Indiana Department of Transportation officials met with Decatur County personnel and contractor representatives recently at Seymour District offices to review plans for an $815,923 Local Public Agency (LPA) project to rehabilitate the C.R. 1100 South bridge over Sand Creek located 0.64 miles west of C.R. 300W near Westport.
Contractor Paul H. Rohe is charged with removing the existing bridge deck and installing a new one on the 3-span 181-foot-long structure that measures 29 feet in clear roadway side-to-side. The project also calls for new bridge rails and pavement approaches.
Work will be done one-half at a time allowing continuous traffic flow controlled by temporary signals.
The lane width is restricted to 11 feet.
Decatur County, the LPA sponsor, is responsible for 20 percent of project costs. The Federal Highway Administration will pay 80 percent. INDOT oversees federal monies and will assure compliance with federal standards.
