Decatur County United Fund is pleased to announce Suzanne and Tom Horan as chairs for its annual United Fund Community Campaign with a fundraising goal of $505,000.
Im delighted we have two great individuals who have stepped up to lead the charge to help raise dollars in support of health and human services provided by our nonprofit community, said Lora Williams, President of Decatur County United Fund Board of Directors. As great leaders themselves, they know firsthand the value of community service and community leadership.
Tom and I are honored to lead this years United Fund community campaign in Decatur County, said Suzanne. With the communitys support, more children and youth will succeed in school and more families will achieve financial security, lead healthier lives and have access to critical basic needs services.
We have such a talented and dedicated business community in Decatur County, which makes me all the more proud to serve as Chair of this years United Fund Community Campaign, said Tom. United Funds campaign theme this year is Making a Difference Together and Suzanne and I intend to do just that to raise the dollars needed by our nonprofit partners.
Suzanne is a current member of the United Fund Board of Directors. She serves on the Community Investment Committee and Nominating Committee. She worked at Decatur County Memorial Hospital for 24 years prior to becoming a full-time homemaker. She is a Greensburg High School alumnus, went to nursing school at IVY Tech and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. Suzanne has taught Religious Ed at St. Marys, participated on the CRHP team at St. Marys, Oldenburg Dinner Auction Committee, and the St. Marys Church Festival Committee. Suzanne gives graciously of her time and talents to help the community.
Tom has owned and operated Walters Tires on Main Street in Greensburg for 18 years. Walters Tires take great pride in their products, services, and relationship with valued customers in Decatur County. He graduated from Greensburg High School and is a graduate of Northwestern Auto Diesel College. Tom has served on the St. Marys Church Picnic Committee, Finance Committee, Faith Formation, and also taught CCD classes. Tom continues to give back to their church and community.
Suzanne and Tom have four daughters, Ashley Pfeffenberger, Jessica Hadler, Samantha and Claire Horan, and four nieces Rebecca Ricke, Olivia, Regan, and Adrienne Horan. Family and community are very important to them and their children.
Joane Cunningham, Executive Director of Decatur County United Fund stated, Our community campaign offers individuals and companies an opportunity to give to qualified nonprofit agencies. Contributions directed specifically to United Fund are used to support local programs, services and initiatives that focus on preparing children and youth for academic success, connecting people with good jobs, access to health services, and providing immediate, emergency assistance such as food and shelter. We are very excited to have Suzanne and Tom leading the 2018 Campaign of Making a Difference Together.
