6/5/2018 - Greensburg City Council Meeting - Click here to print this information

The Greensburg City Council met Monday evening. Police Chief Brendan Bridges presented a request for an additional appropriation of approximately $14,000 from the OWI Fund to Criminal Interdiction. The council approved the request.

The council approved tax abatement renewals for GECOM, Mesco Manufacturing, Hitachi, Welage Optometry, K-Fab, Top Flight Athletics, Tree City Estates, Tree City Villages, and Sun Properties Group. Valeo has not submitted its renewals. The company was late with its submission last year and a special meeting was held to approve the renewal. This year, the company was contacted multiple times and the deadline was extended but the renewal application has not been submitted as of today.

Mayor Dan Manus provided the council with an update based on the concerns expressed by Andrea Dennett during the May meeting regarding right of way for her business during the Lincoln Street project. During the May meeting, the council offered to create a temporary driveway with the city putting in the driveway as well as taking it out and seeding the area upon completion of construction. Mrs. Dennett has asked for an asphalt driveway and parking spaces. The council agreed to make another offer for the temporary driveway. If an agreement cannot be reached, the new curb will be put in but work on the sidewalk will not be completed due to the right-of-way issue.

Kevin Fleetwood provided a report on the May 15th Plan Commission meeting and Darrell Poling provided a report on the June 4th Board of Works meeting.

The council will hold its next meeting on July 2nd at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
