The Greensburg Board of Works met Monday evening. EMA Director Brad Speer requested, and received approval for, the following street closures on Sunday, July 15th beginning at 3:00 pm for the 4-H Fair Parade:

-Ireland Street between McKee Street and W Davis Street

-McKee Street between Ireland Street and Monfort Street

-W Forsythe Street between Ireland Street and Monfort Street

-W Wilson Street between Ireland Street and Monfort Street

-W Scoby Street between Ireland Street and Monfort Street

-W Bryant Street between Ireland Street and Monfort Street

-W Thomas Street between Ireland Street and Monfort Street

Andrea McKee requested, and received approval for, the following street closures beginning at 9:00 am for the 99th Tri Kappa 4th of July parade on Wednesday, July 4th:

-Franklin Street from Walnut Street to Washington Street

-Side streets at Hendricks Street and Central Avenue

Fire Chief Steve Garrett requested, and received approval for, the disposal of 3 computer servers. The Fire Department replaced the servers with a new system. The old servers will go to Summit Microsystems for proper disposal. He also received approval to promote Probationary Firefighter Neal Ploeger to First Class Firefighter effective June 4th. Police Chief Brendan Bridges received approval to promote Officer Mitch Tuttle to First Class Patrolman effective June 15th.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Jeff Smith submitted, and received approval for, Construction Payout 14 to Strand and Associates for $227,113.14. Additionally, he submitted an amendment for the Engineering Services contract with Strand and Associates. Substantial completion of the project is scheduled for July 1st with final completion by September 1st. Based on weather issues throughout the winter, final completion may extend until October 1st. The extension of the completion date would increase the cost from $182,000 to $222,000 with administrative costs increasing from $240,000 to $275,000. The board approved the request.

The board will hold its next meeting on July 2nd at 5:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
