The Greensburg City Council met Monday evening. Police Chief Brendan Bridges presented the council with Resolution 2018-5. The resolution would transfer approximately $14,000 in funds received from Operation Pull Over to the city's general fund. He stated that he would then request an appropriation from the general fund during the May meeting. The council approved the resolution.

Mayor Dan Manus announced his decision on funding requests to be paid through EDIT funds as follows:

-Economic Development Corporation $60,000

-Mainstreet Greensburg $30,000

-Learning Center $15,000

-Catch-a-Ride $5,000

-Greensburg Rural Works $5,000

The council approved Phase II of a 5 year, $6 million personal property tax abatement for Gecom. Phase II will focus on retention of seasonal jobs.

Police Chief Brendan Bridges discussed the importance of locking vehicles and homes, especially as the weather begins to warm up. He reported the recent arrests of several out-of-county juveniles illegally entering unlocked vehicles.

Street Commissioner Mark Klosterkemper announced that heavy trash pick up days will take place on regular trash days during the week of May 7th-11th.

Council President Jamie Cain requested that an executive session take place prior to the next council meeting. The executive session will take place on April 18th at 7:00 pm

The council will hold its next meeting on May 7th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
