The Greensburg Board of Works met Tuesday evening. Andy Scholle provided the board with a survey of the alley on N. West Street between Washington and North Streets to clarify property lines for residents with property adjoining the alley.
Sewage and Wastewater Department Superintendent Jeff Smith presented the board with construction payment number 9 for Strand and Associates. The board approved the payment of just over $669,000. City Engineer Ron May requested conditional acceptance of reconstruction of CR 350W which is a city street that dead ends at CR 300N. The board approved the request with the conditions of improving the intersection, completion of pavement widening, finishing fine grading and ditch slopes, completion of seeding and mulching, ensuring safety of barriers currently in place, providing weight tickets to the city, and expected completion by mid-May. The Decatur County Redevelopment Commission is providing funding for the work.
Police Chief Brendan Bridges requested, and received approval, to purchase 3 Watch Guard in-car video systems for Police Department vehicles at a total cost of about $16,600. The systems were included in the 2018 budget and the board approved the purchase. Donna Lecher submitted a sewer adjustment of $511.46 for a property where a rusty pipe leaked and eventually burst. The board approved the adjustment. Fire Chief Steve Garrett requested, and received approval, to promote Eric Brown from Probationary Firefighter to 1st Class Firefighter.
The board will hold its next meeting on February 5th at 5:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
