It was the annual meeting for the Decatur County Extension Program last night. It was announced that a new extension educator had been hired. Christopher Fogle will begin December 1st. His area will involve Health and Human Services which includes the Decatur County Extension Homemaker program. Teri Hornberger had been in that position before being selected to head up the 4-H program and youth development side of things. Jeff Hermesch is involved in the ag side of extension. The third educator position has been vacant for a few months.

Certificate of distinction honors were presented. Diana Bennett and Gene Crabill are this year's recipient. (pictured - Bennett receiving her honors from Hermesch and Dennis Holtkamp). Gene was not able to be there and son Todd accepted the certificate and read a statement from him.

Ruth Flack was presented a certificate for her 6 years of service on the board.

Other participants in the annual meeting included 4-H Council Craig Martin, Decatur County Fair Board President Phil Nobbe, Decatur County Extension Homemakers President Marilyn Davis, 4-H youth presenter Jessica Williams on the True Purpose of 4-H and Kimmie Gauck on a Purdue ag program called PCARET. The meeting was conducted by Extension Board president Dave Smith.
