Local North Decatur Sunshine Society Receives Indy Zoo Tickets from MainSource Bank

MainSource Bank recently donated eight Indianapolis Zoo tickets to the North Decatur Sunshine Society, to be given away at the Indiana Sunshine Societys fall meeting, hosted at North Decatur High School.
The Sunshine Society was developed with the idea of spreading happiness and good motivation. The objective was to scatter seeds of kindness among the old, sick and needy and to weave kindness through the everyday lives of all. Recognized as an excellent character builder, the society reaches out, strengthens, encourages, lifts and brightens the lives of everyone they come in contact with. After over 100 years, the Indiana Sunshine Society still exists in Indiana high schools and continues to serve others with over a thousand members of young men and women.
The North Decatur Sunshine Society will host the Indiana Societys fall meeting this year. There will be many activities throughout the day, including the give-away of the Indianapolis Zoo tickets. Barb Lecher, Sunshine sponsor, reported that over 100 girls from over 8 high schools will gather this Saturday at North Decatur High School. The girls will also have sessions on Self Defense, Mindfulness and Art Therapy.Dr. Jarrod Burns, Superintendent for Decatur County Community Schools, will provide the Welcome announcement and 2017 Indiana Derby Queen, Elizabeth Lecher, will be the guest speaker. The Indiana Sunshine Society raises money and awareness for Riley Hospital, their main philanthropic organization.
