The Greensburg Board of Works met Tuesday evening. Police Chief Brendan Bridges requested, and received approval, to promote Probationary Officer Matt Terkhorn to 1st Class Patrolman. The board approved the new 911 contract with no changes from the contract currently in effect.

Wastewater Treatment Supervisor Jeff Smith requested, and received approval for, payment of just under $100,000 to Strand and Associates. Mr. Smith also requested, and received approval, to purchase a three-quarter ton 4WD pickup with snow plow capability from Don Meyer Ford for just under $26,000. Mr. Smith presented the board with a discharge permit for the new plant at KB Foods. The board approved the permit pending review of the city attorney and Mayor.

Donna Lecher received approval for a sewer adjustment of just over $1,900 for Greensburg Community Schools due to an underground leak.

Fire Chief Steve Garrett received approval to transfer bed frames, box springs, and night stands to the Transitional Living Center.

The board agreed to hold an executive session on September 14th at 6:00 pm to interview 4 candidates for an open position with the Greensburg Fire Department. City Engineer Ron May briefed the board on a road closure for a portion of the Barachel Lane and Montgomery Road intersection on September 9th.

Mayor Manus told the board that new garbage containers should be delivered in early October. It was pointed out that the small recycling totes will no longer be picked up. All recycling must be placed in the new, larger containers. The old totes should be disposed of in the new containers. The board will hold its next meeting on October 2nd at 6:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
