The Greensburg City Council met Tuesday evening. The council held a public hearing to discuss 2018 budget ordinances for Greensburg Community Schools, Greensburg Municipal Airport, city salaries, and elected salaries, as well as an additional appropriation ordinance. The council agreed to hold a budget workshop on September 18th at 6:30 pm to make final adjustments prior to the scheduled budget adoption on October 2nd. Upon completion of the public hearing, the council entered into its regular meeting.

The council approved Ordinance 2017-14 regarding dormant funds. As a result, about $47,000 will be transferred to the citys general fund. The council approved first readings for the 2018 city budget. The council approved the renewal of two tax abatements for Tom Welage and approved two new tax abatements for Hitachi. The tax abatements for Hitachi are for 10 years based on an investment of $7.35 million in new equipment.

The council discussed an amended animal control ordinance. The council is waiting for input from the animal control board before moving forward.

The council will hold its next meeting on October 2nd at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
