8/29/2017 - Board of Aviation Commissioners Meeting - Click here to print this information

The Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners met Monday evening. Vice President Jon Dooley gave the financial report. The airport currently has just under $6,900 in the airport improvement fund, about $75,000 in the aviation and rotary fuel account, and approximately $194,000 in the airport operations fund.

President Bill Ernstes provided the board members with a copy of the approved 2018 budget that will be presented to the city council on September 5th. Mr. Ernstes informed the board that one quote, for about $14,000, was received for the replacement of a hangar door. The board approved the purchase. The airport still has 4 additional doors that will need to be replaced. The board tabled discussion on installing posts or a gate and fence based on parking issues along the taxiway during this year's Decatur County Fair.

Paul Shaffer of BF&S updated the board on the environmental document for the proposed airport expansion project. Mr. Shaffer recommended that the board grant signing authority to Bill Ernstes and the board's attorney in case grant opportunities become available prior to the board's next meeting and the end of the fiscal year. After discussion, the board voted unanimously to grant the authorization. Mr. Ernstes noted that board member Jim Pruett announced he would be running for election to the 6th Congressional District.

The board will hold its next meeting on September 25th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
