6/27/2017 - Board of Aviation Commissioners Meeting - Click here to print this information

The Greensburg Board of Aviation Commissioners met Monday evening. Vice President Jon Dooley noted that the informal question and answer session prior to Thursday's public hearing will take place from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Greensburg City Hall. Mr. Dooley provided the financial report with current balances of approximately $293,000 combined for the airport improvement, aviation and rotary fuel, and the airport operations accounts. The commissioners approved a motion to advertise for quotes to replace hangar door E-5.

Paul Shaffer of BF&S provided the commissioners with an update of the draft environmental assessment document for the proposed replacement runway at the airport. The document is available for public review at the Greensburg Public Library. The current document is revised from the last public hearing in 2012, integrating adjustments based on updates as well as comments and written remarks from that hearing. The public will have the opportunity to provide remarks and written comments during Thursday's formal hearing. Additionally, written comments will be accepted through July 10th. President Bill Ernstes informed the commissioners that the excise tax for aviation and rotary fuel will increase by 10 cents on July 1st.

The commissioners will hold their next regularly scheduled meeting on July 24th at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
