The Greensburg Redevopment Commission met Thursday evening. City Engineer Ron May informed the commission members of a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, May 23rd in the City Hall Gymnasium. There will be an informal question and answer period from 6:00-6:30 with the formal meeting starting at 6:30. The hearing is for the proposed Veterans Way Phase II Project which would include construction of approximately just over one-half mile between Smith Road and SR 3. The project would require the acquisition of about 5.7 acres for a new, permanent right-of-way.

Adam Wentzel presented the other commissioners with a steering committee recommendation to revise the project list. Veterans Way remains the top priority. The funding for Greensburg Community Schools has been completed for this year. The commission is looking at possible improvements on Lincoln Street from 1st to Main Streets, similar to improvements made farther north on Lincoln Street. The members also discussed creating multi-use paths, particularly in the Freeland Road area.

The commission will hold its next meeting on June 22nd at 6:30 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
