4/3/2017 - Board of Works Meeting - Click here to print this information

The Greensburg Board of Works held its monthly meeting Monday evening. Wendy Blake from Mainstreet Greensburg requested road closures for the Tenderloin Throwdown on June 24th. The request included closing of the required streets beginning at 8:00 pm on June 23rd. Several board members expressed concern over the impact that businesses open after 8:00 pm would face. The board tabled the request and asked for other options.
Josh Snapp from Greensburg Youth Baseball requested, and received approval for, a road closure for a portion of Park Road to the baseball complex in support of the Youth Baseball parade on April 29th.
Police Chief Brendan Bridges received approval to make a conditional job offer based on the board's selection. The name will not be released until an offer has been made and accepted.
Sewer and Wastewater Superintendent Jeff Smith requested approximately $375,000 for the purchase of a new Vac-Con, which is a sewer cleaning and hydro excavation truck, to replace the current truck which was purchased in 1984. The loan for the sewer plant will close on April 13th.
Street Commissioner Mark Klosterkemper provided the board 2 bids received to purchase the city's old garbage truck. The board accepted neither bid and passed a motion to sell the truck for scrap.
Fire Chief Steve Garrett requested approval to investigate prices for new gas monitors. The cost for the monitors would be covered by HAZMAT funds.
Donna Lecher presented the board with a request for an approximately $1152 sewer adjustment. The adjustment was due to a vacant house with a sewer leak from January 9th-17th. The board approved the adjustment.
The board will hold its next meeting on May 1st at 5:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
