More Information The Greensburg Plan Commission held its monthly meeting Tuesday evening. The commission conducted a public meeting for the purpose of considering an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to create the Veterans Way and Memorial Way Overlay District and amend the zoning map to include 58 parcels in the Overlay District area. The amendment would manage the look and feel of the area, landscape, signage, and building placement. The amendment would also promote a mix of uses for economic development but would exclude warehouses, storage, freight, and heavy machinery businesses. City Engineer Ron May read 11 letters into the record, all in opposition to the amendment. Five speakers, all in opposition, presented to the commission. Some of the comments received included that the amendment would not be in the best interest of development in Greensburg. After consideration, the commission voted to strike down the current amendment and send it back to the steering committee. It was further recommended that the steering committee be expanded to include property owners. The commission will hold its next meeting on April 18th at 7:15 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
