More Information A Greensburg man faces an allegation of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor. 47-year old Joseph Evans was charged in Decatur County Circuit Court on March 15th. According to court documents, an Indiana State Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the vicinity of Washington Street and Ireland Street. After approaching the vehicle, the officer believed he smelled an odor commonly associated with an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. According to the police report, the officer observed the suspect having glassy and bloodshot eyes, and slowed/slurred speech. The officer, at that point, believed the suspect had the smell and common indicators of an intoxicated person. The officer conducted standardized field tests, none of which were successfully completed by the suspect. The suspect took a preliminary breath test with a result of .12% BrAc. At that point, the suspect verbally agreed to consent to a certified test. The suspect was transported to the Decatur County Jail. The certified breath test was conducted with a result of .12% BrAc. The suspect was then remanded to the Decatur County Jail staff.
