3/7/2017 - City Council decides on non-profit grants during monthly meeting -
More Information The Greensburg City Council held its monthly meeting Monday evening. The council took action on non-profit funding requests received during the February 13th special meeting. After discussion of each request, totaling $194,000, the council awarded the following grants: $5,000 to Greensburg Community Schools; $5,000 to Big Brothers/Big Sisters; $3,500 to Catch-a-Ride; $15,000 to New Directions; $60,000 to the Economic Development Corporation; $15,000 to the Learning Center; $30,000 to Mainstreet Greensburg; and $10,000 to Bread of Life for a total of $143,500. After hearing from residents, the council voted against Ordinance 2016-32, which would have created a one way alley east of Broadway between Barachel and 10th St. Fire Chief Steve Garrett introduced new firefighter Eric Brown to the council. The council tabled Ordinance 2017-3, additional appropriations, until the April meeting. The council will hold its next meeting on April 3rd at 7:00 pm at Greensburg City Hall.
