3/6/2017 - Frye recognizes Hoosier volunteer firefighters with House resolution - Click here to print this information

STATEHOUSE (March 6, 2017) State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) today at the Statehouse honored Indiana volunteer firefighters who have served their communities for 50 years or more.

Frye recognized 62 volunteer firefighters who have devoted at least 50 years to protecting Hoosiers.

Volunteer firefighters put themselves in harms way to ensure our communities are safe, Frye said. As a retired firefighter, I understand the sacrifices made by those who are devoted to the safety of others and the hardship these individuals endure. We owe them our gratitude.

According to Frye, Hoosiers are served by 847 volunteer fire and rescue departments across Indiana. These volunteer firefighters usually maintain full-time jobs, while serving the fire department on a part-time basis after completing required training.
