A man from Cambridge, Maryland is being charged with attempted murder of a police officer among other charges. The suspect, Armand Cornish, 27, was driving a stolen car when he led police on a pursuit, and later struck a Cambridge police officer. He has been under watch in a hospital where he is being treated for injuries after being shot by the officer. The charges include attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault (two counts), second degree assault on a law enforcement officer, failure to obey a lawful order of a police officer, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, unauthorized removal of property and theft between $1,500 and $25,000. The shooting stems from the incident on June 29 and the investigation is on-going.
