(Annapolis, MD) WNAV - County Executive Steve Schuh today called on the Anne Arundel County Council to pass his proposed $1.5 million property tax cut. Under the proposal, homeowners would see their property tax rate lowered to $0.902, which would be $0.002 under the $0.904 projected property tax cap. Public safety employees who live in the County would also be able to obtain a $2,500 credit on their property taxes. In November, the County Council passed Resolution 47-17, which called for a cut in the property tax rate below the formula driven property tax cap. The County's budget plan and tax rate will be finalized on June 14th.
