(Salisbury, MD) WNAV -- A man is injured after a police involved shooting overnight. State Police say 38-year-old Justin Marshall of Hall Drive from Salisbury charged at police while holding a knife, refused police orders to drop the weapon and was shot.

Two troopers fired at Marshall and he is being treated for gunshot wounds at Peninsula Regional Medical Center near Ocean City.

Officials say Mr. Marshalls mother had contacted police, saying she was trying to get him to the hospital around 1:15 in the morning, but he had jumped out of the vehicle, and ran away. He came home around 2 a.m.

Around 2:30 a.m. when troopers arrived, they say Marshall met them in the front yard and immediately charged at them with the knife.

Marshall is under police guard while at the hospital and charges are pending.
