9/11/2017 - APD Report: Hammond Harwood House in Annapolis, Target of Burglar - Click here to print this information

(Annapolis, MD) WNAV -- Sometime overnight Friday, a burglar broke a pane in a window at the Historic Hammond Harwood House in Annapolis, broke the lock on a cash drawer and stole money. It's unclear how much money the thief got away with. No word on a suspect.

In a separate incident, a stranger was found sleeping in an unoccupied and unlocked home. Other unrelated thefts include: weapons, electronics, money and a woman's bike, all stolen.

Officials say locked doors on homes and vehicles would help to end a string of crimes of opportunity.

In the last 72 hours, Annapolis Police responded to 291 calls for service.
