CATAWBA COUNTY (WKVS) Authorities believe theyve found the bodies of two teenagers that have been missing from Catawba County. The vehicle that 18-year-old Jake Ziegler and 17-year-old Ray Pierce were last seen in was found submerged in the Wateree River near I-20 East in South Carolina. The bumper and a license plate were found around 4:30 yesterday afternoon and that led to the discovery of the car. The SC State Highway Patrol says the vehicle was damaged from what appears to be a traffic collision. They are still investigating and more details are expected to continue to be made available.

LENOIR (WJRI) Caldwell County Sheriffs Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting. The Lenoir News-Topic has reported that deputies responded to a call of trespassing on Clarks Chapel Rd. late Friday night, and while en route the call changed to a shooting that left one person dead. None of the names of the people involved have been released and there have been no charges filed in the case. The case is still under investigation.

HICKORY (WKVS) A Hickory woman was arrested late last week on embezzlement charges. 39-year-old Lucrecia Esmeralda Sanchez is accused of taking $26,000 while she worked for Unifour Financial Services. Sanchez is said to have altered a truck title that was owned by the Financial Services Company. The title was released to the customer sometime between May of 2009 and December of 2010. Sanchez was jailed under $1,000 bond.

LENOIR (WKVS) A couple was arrested on drug charges in Lenoir. 32-year-old Jennifer Denise Robinson and 38-year-old Aaron Lateff Pearson were arrested for trafficking cocaine and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance. The arrest came after law enforcement officials investigated the home the couple shared and the tanning business that Robinson ran in Granite Falls. Officials say they recovered an ounce and a half of powder cocaine, along with marijuana, scales, and cash totaling over $1,400. Both suspects were jailed under $20,000 bonds. Pearson is also facing charges in McDowell County as well.

VIEWMONT (WKVS) An accident on Saturday closed Highway 127 in Viewmont. The Hickory Daily Record has reported that 26-year-old Derrick Callahan of Hickory struck a telephone pole around 6:20 Saturday morning at the intersection of 23rd Ave. Callahan was not injured in the accident and was charged with driving while intoxicated and released on a $750 bond. Traffic had to be detoured around the accident scene for several hours.

DETROIT MI (WKVS) Granite Falls Native Madison Bumgarner and his team the San Francisco Giants are World Series Champions again. For the second time in three years the Giants have won it all. San Francisco swept the Detriot Tigers in 4 games. Bumgarner pitched game 2 of the series, going seven innings and striking out eight batters.

MORGANTON (WKVS) A steady flow of Burke County voters have cast their ballots early in this years election. The Morganton News Herald says that around 1600 people voted on Friday alone. Statewide thus far 1.3 million people have voted early. Voters can vote early until Saturday at noon.
