LENOIR (WJRI) A weekend fire at a vacant residence is being investigated as arson. The fire broke out just before 11 oclock Saturday night at an abandoned home on Sunset St. Firefighters were on the scene battling the blaze for more than two hours. Fire investigators did determine that the fire was suspicious in nature and started in the rear porch area of the home. Lenoir police are now investigating the fire as arson. The last known owner of the house died approximately 9 months ago.
