-The State of Illinois now has a budget for the first time in two years. The Illinois House on Thursday overrode Governor Bruce Rauner's veto of a 32 % income tax increase and a spending plan. 75th District Rep. David Welter and 76th District Rep. Lindsay Parkhurst both voted no on the override.

- A teenager from Morris is accused of stealing a credit card and using it at different businesses. 19 year old Jasmine Doss allegedly found the card unattended at the Morris McDonald's and proceeded to use it unlawfully at Morris Tobacco, the local Shell station, and at Tobacco and Cigars in Morris. All of the incidents were recorded on video. Doss was transported to the Grundy County Jail after being arrested on a charge of possessing a stolen credit card, and use of a stolen credit card.

- Grundy Three Rivers Habitat for Humanity is looking for a new Executive Director as the current director, Sarah Peterson, will be stepping down to run her own small business, and to assist her husband in the operation of his small business. Persons interested in applying to be the new Executive Director of Habitat must submit their resumes by July 24th.
