1/11/2018 - Quincy Resident Arrested For DUI - Click here to print this information

On Monday, at approximately 4:25 p.m., 53-year-old Bryan Burns was driving his 2010 Hyundai westbound on SR-70 while under the influence of alcohol after having just turned left onto E. Main Street from S. Redburg Ave in Quincy.

Due to his level of intoxication, Mr. Burns made an unsafe turning movement, allowing the vehicle to travel across the two-way left-turn lane, both eastbound lanes, and into a ditch on the south shoulder of E. Main Street.

While going into the ditch, the Hyundai struck and destroyed a reflective paddle marker.

This collision happened at the west driveway entrance to 1580 E. Main Street (Scarlett Susan Tax Preparation).

Mr. Burns was able to drive the vehicle out of the ditch.

Once out of the ditch, Mr. Burns drove the vehicle eastbound until he was able to conduct a turn through the parking lot of 1580 E. Main Street.

Mr. Burns then fled the scene and drove to his residence.

Mr. Burns was found at 4:46 p.m. by the Quincy CHP still seated in the Hyundai in front of his residence.

The vehicles engine was still running with the headlights and windshield wipers still on.

After an investigation into possible DUI driving, Mr. Burns was arrested for DUI at 5:00 p.m.
