1/9/2018 - Accident On SR-89 Results in Minor Injuries - Click here to print this information

On January 4th, at approximately 7:45 a.m., 34-year-old Danielle Forester was driving her Chevy Blazer southbound on SR-89, just north of Little Truckee Summit at approximately 40 MPH with other southbound traffic.

Mrs. Forester was traveling at an unsafe speed for the roadway, on which a thin layer of ice had accumulated, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

The vehicle swerved left and right multiple times before leaving the west edge of the roadway where the front of the Chevy struck two large pine trees.

The vehicle ricocheted off the trees and came to rest blocking both the north and southbound lanes of SR-89.

Mrs. Forester was transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital for minor injuries.
