During the Lassen County Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board was requested to continue funding the OneStop Resource Centers located in Westwood, Herlong, and Big Valley.
During their budget talks, the Board had considered removing $10,000 from each of the resource centers budgets.
However, as all three of the directors stated during public comment, funding is essential for the One Stops to continue being successful.
Nichole Young, Director of the Westwood OneStop, stated that she has had nearly 5,000 instances of people seeking help.
Christy Osmondson, of Big Valley Resource Center, says the number of people seeking help at the resource centers have increased over the past year.
The Center has even begun hosting community events to keep increasing their public outreach.
Even Supervisor Tom Hammond agreed that the OneStops are essential to the outlying communities within Lassen County.
He urged the other Board members to find a way to continue funding the resource centers.
We will be keeping you updated on Lassen Countys Budgets and the OneStops as more information comes available.
