The R21 fire is burning approximately 30 miles northeast of Susanville, CA in Washoe County, near the Twin Peaks Wild Horse and Burro Herd Management Area.
The lightning-caused vegetation fire is currently 600 acres and 75% contained.
It is burning habitat for greater sage grouse and impacting livestock grazing allotments.
It is one of 22 wildfires caused by lightning over the past three days on BLM-managed lands northeast of Susanville along the California-Nevada border.
These fires have burned a total of 1,400 acres.
No structures or infrastructure have been damaged.
The fires have burned habitat for greater sage grouse and other wildlife, impacted livestock grazing allotments and wild horse and burro herd management areas.
