During the Plumas County Board of Supervisors meeting, Public Health asked the Board to approve and authorize the Chair to sign an agreement modification with NorCal EMS for the Counties Local Emergency Medical Services Agency which would extend the term through fiscal year 2017-2018.
The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the agreement modification.
Also during the meeting, the Building Department asked the Board to approve and authorize the Chair to sign a contract between the County of Plumas and West Coast Code Consultants to provide plan review services on an as-needed basis.
Building Director Randy Hicks says the department is swamped with work and nearly 8 weeks behind schedule due to code changes, the severe winter, and other issues.
The department is also severely understaffed, with multiple employees having to wear numerous hats for the department to function.
The matter drew dissent from the Board though.
Some, such as Supervisor Jeff Engle, argued to keep all of the work in-house to protect the Countys reputation.
Others, such as Supervisor Lori Simpson, were in favor of approving the matter in order to help the Department get back on schedule.
Ultimately, the Board approved the contract in a 3-2 vote.
Finally, during the Board of Supervisors meeting, the Sheriff's Office asked the Board to appropriate $2,400 from the general fund contingency to animal control to cover the costs of the annual animal cremations.
They were also asked to approve a supplemental budget of $40,000 for the receipt of unanticipated revenue for the Domestic Cannabis Eradication & Suppression Program.
In addition, the Board was asked to approve a supplemental budget of $94, 953 for receipt of unanticipated revenue for the Homeland Security Grant.
A four/fifths roll call vote was required for all of the requests.
The Board of Supervisors approved all of the matters in a unanimous decision.
