On Friday, the Lassen County Sheriffs Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle in a remote area in the mountains above Milford.
Citizens had observed a suspicious vehicle in an area where burglaries had recently been reported.
Deputies responded to the area and made contact with one person at a residence.
While the first subject was being detained, a second subject was seen fleeing on foot.
Sheriffs Deputies and CHP Officers attempted to contain and apprehend the second subject without success.
The detained person was identified as 36-year old Joshua Dixon of Susanville.
During the course of the investigation, Deputies recovered four firearms that had been in possession of the suspects.
The serial numbers on two of the firearms had been removed.
It was also apparent that the suspects had been in the process of burglarizing the property.
Additionally, Deputies recovered methamphetamine during the course of the investigation.
Joshua Dixon was booked for violations of trespassing, burglary, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a firearm with the serial numbers removed.
He was booked into the Lassen County Jail and held on $35,000.00 bail.
This case is still under investigation.
