On Wednesday, the Lassen County Sheriffs Office obtained a search warrant to search for stolen property at a residence on Tule Lane in Litchfield.

Detectives and Deputies from the Sheriffs Office, along with detectives from the Susanville Police Department, served the search warrant at the residence of John Wilson in Litchfield.

After safely securing the people inside the residence, a search of the residence and
multiple outbuildings began.

During the search Detectives discovered multiple items of stolen property had been stolen during recent burglaries.

Multiple guns and controlled substances were also observed in plain view.

Two of the residents were identified as
convicted felons and admitted to possessing the firearms.

Detectives sought a second search warrant to include a search for firearms, ammunition, and controlled substances.

Upon receiving the second search warrant, Detectives recovered 11 firearms that were
illegally possessed, methamphetamine, and ammunition.

Three of the firearms were identified as stolen in a recent Lassen County burglary, one was an illegal short barreled shotgun, and another one had the serial number removed.

Detectives arrested Lassen County resident 54-year-old Mitchell Dye for felon in possession
of a firearm.

Also arrested was 54-year-old John Wilson of Litchfield, for felon in possession of a firearm, possessing drugs while armed with a loaded firearm, possession of an illegal
(short-barrel) rifle/shotgun and possession of a dangerous drug.

Both suspects were booked into the Lassen County Jail.

Dyes bail was set at $20,000 while Wilson is being held on $40,000.

The investigation will continue and the public is encouraged to pass on any information related to recent thefts and burglaries.
