6/2/2017 - Update on Shooting Incident in Susanville

On Sunday, officers from the Susanville Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Cornell St. for a gunshot victim.
Officers arrived on scene and found a 53 year old male who had been shot one time in the leg.
Personnel from the Susanville Fire Department along with SEMSA arrived on scene and the victim was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment of his injury.
During the course of the initial investigation, it was learned that two male subjects were involved in an argument and during the course of that argument one of the subjects brandished a firearm and shot the other subject one time hitting him in the leg.
The suspect then fled the scene prior to the officers arrival.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that 64-year-old Harold Ray Kimbriel of Susanville and 53-year-old Jimmy Dee Edgar also of Susanville had been involved in a physical altercation at 1502 Cornell St., over an alleged stolen generator.
Both parties involved in this incident were deemed to be aggressors and subsequently both were arrested.
Kimbriel was arrested for assault with a firearm with bail set at $25,000.00.
Edgar was arrested for attempted murder and his bail was set at $512,500.00.
Both subjects were booked into the Lassen County Jail and the case was referred to the Lassen County District Attorneys Office.
No other subjects are outstanding regarding this case.
