Sierra Madre Winter Carnival

Friday Feb. 5th
Treasure Hunt 6 pm
Solve the Clues, Meet the Challenges, Be the first to claim the treasure at the Secret Location!
Every person should wear warm cloths and bring a flashlight.
Hunt begins at 6 p.m at Mountain Market.
Refreshments provided at the beginning and a roast beef dinner at the end of the hunt.

Saturday Feb. 6th

10:00 am - SLED RACES (youth and "Build Your Own)
$10 entry fee for Build Your Own (anything that will slide down the hill!)
Registration begins at 9:30 at 8th & Rankin
Fun for all ages! Pre-School to grandparents.
Prizes for the "Fastest" and the "Best of Show"

11 AM TO 2 PM VFW CHILI FEED
Held across from the sled races at the Encampment Presbyterian Church.


Snow Sculpture Contest
Held at the corner of 6th & Freeman
Individuals, school classes, organizations and businesses can enter.
Begin your creation any time after you sign up at Mountain Market.
Judging by local artist R.G. Finney BEGINS AT 3:00 P.M.
First Place - $200.00 Second Place - $150.00 Third Place - $100.00 Two Honorable Mention $50.00 each

Sixth Street Sprint 2:00 p.m.
Second Annual Snowmobile event- Meet at Sixth and Barnett
Prizes will be given to the fastest of two runs.
Three age groups: 10 to 12 years/ 13-16 years/ 17 years and up
First Place (in each age group) $50.00 Second Place - $25.00 Third Place - $10.00
Helmets and eye protection required by all participants.

Cocoa Cook-Off 2:00 p.m.
Bring gallon minimum entry in a thermal container to Sixth Street judging station. Two classes G rate (non-alcoholic) and R rated (alcoholic)
First Place (in each class) $50.00 Second Place - $25.00 Third Place - $10.00
Plus a Peoples Choice $55.00 prize.
