10/10/2018 - Oct. Sales Tax Rebates Up In McCulloch, Mason Counties, Down In Others - Click here to print this information

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported this week that sales tax rebates to Texas Cities and Counties in October totaled $735 million, up 11% from October of last year. Year-to-date, sales tax rebates across the state are up 9%.

October rebates are for taxes collected in August.

McCulloch County's sales tax rebate in October totaled $174,000 -- up 7% from the same month last year. And, through the first 10 months of 2018, McCulloch County rebates are up 4% at $1.7 million.

Mason County's Oct. rebate is $21,000, an increase of 14% from last year. Year-to-date, Mason County's rebates are up 3% at $210,000.

In Menard County, the tax rebate for Oct. is off 36% at $19,000. Year-to-date, Menard County's rebate is down 6% at $184,000.

Concho County's Oct. rebate is down 17% at $21,000. Year-to-date, however, Concho County's rebates are up 26% at $248,000.

The October sales tax rebate for San Saba County is down 19% at $52,000, and down 2% year-to-date at $676,000.
