According to a report in the June 6 edition of the Brady Standard-Herald, a pair of credit card skimmers were recently discovered and removed from two gas pumps at the Yesway Convenience Store on South Bridge Street.
The devices were discovered after both the Commercial National and Brady National Banks had noticed an increase in fraudulent charges to their customers' debit cards. Then, through a process of elimination, the search was narrowed down to two local businesses.
It is unknown how long the skimmers had been installed on the two pumps at Yesway. Also unknown is how many customers' debit cards may have been compromised.
Both banks reported they had to make adjustments in how their customers could use their debit cards at local convenience stores and gas stations.
